Any IRMAA business written must be through IAMS with an approved carrier.

IRMAA Navigator includes a course curriculum of 16 educational modules along with a final exam. This certifies the agent with the designation (designation) and provides the agent with knowledge in regards to medicare and social security and the impact these have on retirement income. In addition to this, agents can access client presentations as well as marketing programs designed to target consumers who are subject to or have the potential to be subject to IRMAA.

After completing the initial video training modules, agents can participate in live sales training events.* As a registered IAMS independent agent, you can also visit our online Sales Resources Library, featuring 24-hour access to financial concept pages, fact finders, presentations, and more.

I recently signed on with IRMAA Navigator even though I had previously received the IRMAA Certification Designation with another company. While I won’t name the other company, they will in all likelihood come up first in a Google search if an insurance agent is doing one to learn more about the designation and program. Sadly, while they may be fine for obtaining the designation, they really offer no real meaningful help after that. As an insurance agent you want to have a program in place to take advantage of the new IRMAA title so that you it can help you to attain new business. You don’t want to try to figure it out on your own.
